SAN DIEGO (July 31, 2026) – San Diego Wave FC announced today the Club has acquired defender Brooklyn Courtnall on loan from Bay FC through the 2026 NWSL Season.

Brooklyn has demonstrated her ability early in her professional career, at both the club and international levels, and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact she will make for this Club.”
Courtnall joins San Diego as a Southern California native entering her second professional season. She first signed with the North Carolina Courage in 2025, where she made nine appearances before joining Bay FC on loan in August. She has since made 11 regular-season appearances (seven starts) for Bay FC.
The 23-year-old earned her first senior call-up to the Canadian Women’s National Team in February, making her debut and helping Canada earn a silver medal at the 2026 SheBelieves Cup while competing against Argentina, Colombia and the United States. Courtnall previously represented Canada at multiple youth national team levels, including the U-15, U-17 and U-20 squads.
At the collegiate level, Courtnall earned all-conference honors in four consecutive seasons at the University of Southern California. During her senior season in 2024, she was named a First-Team All-American and earned First Team All-Big Ten honors after helping the Trojans capture the Big Ten title and advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
