SAN DIEGO (Sept. 30, 2026) – San Diego Wave FC is set to participate in the 2027 Coachella Valley Invitational (CVI) powered by Fundamental, joining seven other National Women’s Soccer League clubs for the sixth edition of the preseason event at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
The 2027 Coachella Valley Invitational will run from Jan. 30 through Feb. 13 and feature nearly half of the clubs from the NWSL and Major League Soccer, making it the largest preseason gathering in North American professional soccer.
Wave FC will be featured on the opening day of the event on Saturday, Jan. 30, as part of an NWSL matchday alongside fellow Southern California club Angel City FC and Chicago Stars FC, which will make its CVI debut. San Diego is also set to participate in the event on Saturday, Feb. 6, when CVI hosts its first-ever NWSL-MLS matchday. Full matchups and kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
San Diego Wave FC is one of eight NWSL clubs currently committed to the 2027 event, joining Angel City FC, Bay FC, Chicago Stars FC, Denver Summit FC, KC Current, Seattle Reign FC and Utah Royals FC. All Southern California-based clubs across the NWSL and MLS will participate, including Wave FC, Angel City FC, San Diego FC, LA Galaxy and LAFC.
The Feb. 6 NWSL-MLS matchday will mark a first for the Coachella Valley Invitational, bringing clubs from both leagues together on the same event date and highlighting the continued growth and momentum of professional soccer across North America.

Advance passes for all event dates will go on sale to the public on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. PT at coachellavalleyinvitational.com.

Advance General Admission single-day passes start at $23, while advance GA weekend passes for Feb. 6-7 start at $51. Advance pricing will remain available until the full match schedule is released, with savings varying by date.
VIP Passes start at $191 and include preferred parking, access to the VIP Pavilion with lounge seating, unlimited food and beverages, VIP restrooms and shaded bleacher seating.
The LA Galaxy Foundation Golf Tournament will also return to the Coachella Valley on Friday, Feb. 5 at Desert Willow Golf Resort, giving fans an opportunity to play alongside LA Galaxy players, coaches and alumni.
