SAN DIEGO (Sept. 30, 2026) – San Diego Wave FC (15-8-3, 48 points) travels to Inter.co Stadium to face the Orlando Pride (10-13-3, 33 points) on Friday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcast live on Prime Video. 

San Diego and Orlando will meet for the second time this season, with the Pride earning a 1-0 victory over the Wave on May 24 at Snapdragon Stadium. Orlando scored the lone goal just before halftime when Luana sent a long ball toward San Diego’s box that deflected into the path of Nicole Payne. Payne finished from outside the box to score her first professional goal. San Diego outshot Orlando 17-14 and held nearly 58 percent possession but was unable to find an equalizer. 

Last Time Out:
San Diego enters Friday’s matchup following a 2-0 road victory over Racing Louisville FC on Sept. 25 at Lynn Family Stadium. Gia Corley opened the scoring in the 27th minute after Lia Godfrey found her following a Trinity Byars flick at midfield. Ludmila doubled San Diego’s lead in the 49th minute, finishing a through ball from Kenza Dali just three minutes after entering the match. Sandra Paños and the Wave defense held Louisville to one shot on target to record their second consecutive shutout. The victory also marked San Diego’s seventh road win of the season, setting a new club record for road wins in a single season. 

Orlando is coming off a 3-1 road victory over Bay FC on Sept. 27 at PayPal Park. Haley McCutcheon opened the scoring in the second minute before Racheal Kundananji equalized for Bay FC in the 11th minute. McCutcheon restored Orlando’s lead two minutes into the second half with her second goal of the match. Jacquie Ovalle added a third goal in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time after receiving a pass from Barbra Banda. The result marked McCutcheon’s second career brace and moved Orlando to 10-13-3 on the season. 

Players to Watch:
Wave FC’s Lia Godfrey recorded her fifth assist of the season in San Diego’s win over Louisville. The midfielder became just the fifth rookie in NWSL history to record five or more assists in a single season. Godfrey is also just the third American player since 2014 to record at least five goals and five assists in her first NWSL season, joining Trinity Rodman (2021) and Croix Bethune (2024). 

Barbra Banda leads Orlando with 16 goals this season, setting a new single-season club record. Her 16 goals surpassed the previous Pride record of 13, set by Marta in 2017 and matched by Banda in 2024. Banda also leads Orlando with four assists this season.
