PROFESSIONAL: Jakobsson comes to Wave FC by way of Bayern Munich, although spent most of the 20-21 season at Spanish club Real Madrid. For Las Blancas the Swede scored eight goals and seven assists in 33 matches to lead the team. At the club level, Jakobsson is one of the most lethal finishers in the game, tallying 113 goals over the course of her career. Jakobsson began her professional career in her home country with second tier club Östers IF. At 17 years old she signed with reigning league champions Umeå IK where she spent five seasons and won two championships, one national cup, and made her UEFA Women’s Cup debut. In 2011 Jakobsson transferred to Russian champion WFC Rossiyanka where she scored nine goals in 13 matches. Jakobsson signed for Chelsea Ladies in January 2013. She scored on her debut in a 1–1 draw with Birmingham. In only 11 appearances for the club, she finished as Chelsea’s top scorer (six goals). With three WSL games remaining until the end of the season she moved to the German Bundesliga signing with newly promoted BV Cloppenburg. In July 2014, Jakobsson signed for Montpellier HSC of the French Division 1 Féminine. In July 2019, Jakobsson joined Real Madrid.
INTERNATIONAL: Jakobsson has also been a mainstay for Sweden since 2011, having played in over 100 international matches for her country, including appearances at the 2011, 2015 and 2019 World Cups. At the 2019 World Cup, Jakobsson notched the game winning goal in the third-place match. She has scored a total of 23 international goals. Jakobsson also represented Sweden in the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, collecting a silver medal at 2016 Rio Games.
