Players to Watch
Melanie Barcenas continues to make an impact for the Wave, recording seven goals this season to establish a new NWSL single season record for goals by a teenager. At 18 years old, she surpassed the previous record shared by Sam Kerr, Mallory Swanson, Trinity Rodman, Jaedyn Shaw, Olivia Moultrie and Emeri Adames. Barcenas’ goal against North Carolina last weekend was her first on the road this season, with her previous six goals all coming at Snapdragon Stadium.

Amanda Gutierres scored her 10th goal of the season on Friday to tie Aïssata Traoré as the top scorer for Boston this season. The forward opened the scoring in the Legacy’s most recent victory over Racing Louisville, finding the net in the ninth minute.
