Wake Forest University Standout was selected by Wave FC in NWSL Draft
San Diego Wave FC announced today that the club has signed midfielder Giovanna DeMarco ahead of the upcoming season. DeMarco signed a one-year deal with an option through the 2024 season.

DeMarco, 23, spent the last five seasons at Wake Forest University. A native from Gwynedd Valley, Penn., DeMarco appeared in 74 games (69 starts), tallying 11 goals and seven assists in her collegiate career. The midfielder was selected to the All-ACC Academic Team (2018, 2019 and 2021) and ACC All-Freshman Team (2018).

Wave FC will open its 2023 campaign on Saturday, March 25, at Snapdragon Stadium. Scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. PT, the match against the Chicago Red Stars kicks off the Wave’s first full season at the all-new Snapdragon Stadium.
