San Diego Wave FC announced today the Club’s 2024 preseason roster ahead of the team’s first training session on Monday, Jan. 29 at Wave FC’s Training Facility in Del Mar, Calif. The Wave enters training camp with 25 players on the preseason roster, 18 of which are under contract.

San Diego returns core players from the 2023 campaign that resulted in the Wave earning the NWSL Shield, including captain Alex Morgan. Last season, defender Naomi Girma, forward Jaedyn Shaw and goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan all signed extended contracts through the 2026 season, while the club signed free agent Savannah McCaskill this offseason to a three-year contract.

The club’s two draft picks, Kennedy Wesley and Mya Jones, will join the Wave for the preseason. Additionally, the Wave have invited five non-roster invitees.

In addition, Lauren Brzycky and the Wave have agreed to terminate the goalkeeper’s contract. The agreement was a mutual decision to allow the Wave’s 2023 NWSL Draft pick to explore new opportunities in Europe. The Wave acquired goalkeeper Hillary Beall from Racing Louisville in the offseason. Beall is expected to join the club for preseason following her loan with Western United in Australia’s A-League.
