San Diego Wave FC announced today that the club has acquired $150,000 in Allocation Money in exchange for midfielder Taylor Kornieck.  

“We want to thank Taylor for her time with the club, and wanted to respect her request to pursue a new opportunity within the league,” said San Diego Wave FC General Manager Molly Downtain. “Taylor was a true professional on and off the field and we wish her all the best in this next step of her career.” 

Kornieck, 25, notched 37 regular season appearances for San Diego through two seasons with the club. She scored  seven goals across all competitions since 2022 and tallied four assists. The Las Vegas native joined the club ahead of the inaugural season, when she was acquired via trade from Orlando Pride. The midfielder has made 74 appearances across all competitions in the NWSL, which includes 59 NWSL appearances. She scored 10 career NWSL goals and tallied seven assists. 

In 2022, Kornieck received her first U.S. Women’s National Team call-up, becoming the tallest player in the program’s history to earn a cap with the national team. In her debut, Kornieck scored in the 90th minute to secure a 3-0 win over Colombia.
