PROFESSIONAL: Carusa, 27, joins San Diego after spending the past season with the Lionesses, where she played in eight matches and scored one goal. Originally making her professional debut with French club Le Havre AC in April 2019, she made three appearances and scored four goals, before signing with Danish club HB Køge in the Kvinde 1. division. Carusa made 57 appearances for HB Køge, where she recorded 30 goals and 13 assists and helped lead the club to back-to-back Danish Championships.
INTERNATIONAL: Internationally, Carusa made her debut for the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team in February 2020 at the UEFA Women’s EURO 2021 Qualifying. Carusa started all three matches for Ireland during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and showcased some of the team’s best chances throughout the tournament. Ireland’s World Cup run came to an end in the Group Stage, finishing out with one draw and two losses in Group B.
