Wave FC slated for 3rd and 4th Round draft picks on Thursday, January 12, in Philadelphia

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (December 22, 2022) – The National Women’s Soccer League has shared the current list of players who have registered for the 2023 NWSL Draft presented by Ally. The draft will be hosted at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Thursday, December 12, at 6 p.m. ET in Philadelphia.

For this year’s upcoming NWSL Draft, San Diego Wave Fútbol Club is slated with 3rd and 4th Round picks.

The current list of players registered for the 2023 NWSL Draft presented by Ally can be seen hereThe registration list will be updated on the NWSL’s website on a rolling basis. Players must register by 11:59 pm ET on Monday, January 9, 2023 to be eligible for selection.

The 2023 NWSL Draft presented by Ally will air live on CBS Sports Network, Paramount+ and CBS Sports HQ, the free 24/7 streaming sports news network, from 6 to 7 p.m. ET. Coverage of the draft will continue onParamount+ and CBS Sports HQ from 7 to 11 p.m. ET.

In its first draft as a club, San Diego acquired Naomi Girma as the #1 pick, who went on to win both NWSL Rookie of the Year and Defender of the Year. Wave FC also drafted midfielder Marleen Schimmer (First Round, No. 9), midfielder Sydney Pulver (2nd Round, No. 25), midfielder Belle Briede (3rd Round, No. 27) and defender Kayla Bruster (4th Round, No. 40).
