San Diego Wave FC (1-0-0, 3 points) will host North Carolina Courage (1-0-0, 3 points) this Saturday, April 1, at Snapdragon Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on FOX 5 San Diego and streamed on Paramount+.

Last Saturday, the Wave kicked off its 2023 campaign with a 3-2 win over the Chicago Red Stars in front of a home opener record crowd of 30,854 fans at Snapdragon Stadium. San Diego received goals from all three attackers as forwards Amirah Ali, Jaedyn Shaw and Alex Morgan all netted their first goals of the season. Morgan converted a penalty kick in the 89th minute to secure the victory.

Meanwhile, North Carolina earned a 1-0 win over Kansas City Current in their home opener last weekend, the club’s fourth consecutive shutout dating back to 2022. Playing in her first NWSL game after transferring from BK Hacken, midfielder Millie Geji scored the lone goal for the Courage.

In the club’s inaugural season, San Diego shut out North Carolina in both meetings with a 1-0 road win in May and a 0-0 home draw in the final regular season match. Morgan scored the lone goal off an assist from midfielder Taylor Kornieck in the road win against the Courage. In addition, the Wave’s draw at home snapped the Courage’s goal streak of 14 straight matches, the longest active streak in the NWSL at the time.

The Wave’s match this Saturday against the Courage is currently on-sale here, with the first 10,000 fans receiving a rally towel.
