SAN DIEGO (Sept. 23, 2026) – San Diego Wave FC (14-3-8, 45 points) travels to Lynn Family Stadium to face Racing Louisville FC (7-2-16, 25 points) on Friday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcast live on NWSL+ and locally broadcast on FOX 5/KUSI.

San Diego holds a 4-2-3 advantage in the all-time series against Louisville. In the teams’ most recent meeting on August 28, the Wave rallied from a two-goal deficit to secure a 3-2 victory at Snapdragon Stadium. Louisville created an early advantage as Lauren Milliet opened the scoring in the first 23 minutes before Taylor Flint doubled the lead from a set piece before halftime. Trinity Byars then scored twice to bring San Diego level, recording her ninth and 10th goals of the season, the most by a Wave player in 2026. The Wave opened the scoring moments after halftime when Melanie Barcenas sent a cross toward the back post that was turned into the net by Kansas City’s Laney Rouse for an own goal. Kenza Dali then helped secure the result in the 91st minute, delivering a free kick into the area that found Kennedy Wesley, who flicked a header into the far corner to make it 2-0 at Snapdragon Stadium.

Racing Louisville FC enters the match following a 2-0 loss to Bay FC on Sunday, Sept. 20, at PayPal Park. After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, Bay FC broke through in the 50th minute when Rachael Kundananji’s low cross found Alex Pfeiffer, who finished from close range. Karlie Lema doubled Bay’s advantage six minutes later after a second Kundananji cross was blocked by a Louisville defender and cleared off the line. Lema intercepted the clearance and finished to make it 2-0.

Player to Watch:
Kenza Dali recorded her third assist of the season in the Wave’s most recent match, setting up Kennedy Wesley on a direct free kick. The captain is now tied for third in club history with six assists. Since joining San Diego last year, Dali has created 99 regular-season chances for her teammates, the most of any NWSL player during that span and holds an expected 6.4 assists on the year.

Emma Sears leads Racing Louisville with seven goals and five assists this season, totaling 12 goal contributions across 24 appearances. The forward has recorded two-goal performances against both the Orlando Pride and Seattle Reign this season. Sears and Kayla Fischer are Louisville’s joint-leading scorers with seven goals apiece, followed by Flint with five.
